So I went inside the theatre with a mood to vent out my anger. After all, how can they remake my favorite movie, how dare they try to replicate the Taj Mahal.
But as I heard somewhere that if you will copy Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, you will turn into a good singer. So here also, if you will copy the "Sairat" scene by scene, you will end up with a good result.
"Dhadak " if compared to "Sairat" lacks a lot but it has every ability to stand on its own. It has its moments, the direction is honest and so as an independent movie it is very much watchable. Yes, I again say that the soul, the depth of the original may be hard to find but it also touches your emotions and does full justice to the story.
Kharaj Mukherjee as Bengali Dada is awesome!! Ashutosh Rana is typecast, the actors playing the friends of Madhu are very good and the rest of the supporting cast also looks fine.
Jhanvi is good in her first movie, she is sincere but you will keep missing "Archi" in her "Parthavi" and that is a disappointment.
However, Ishan Khattar is amazing. It is hard to believe that it is just his 2nd movie, he is such a spirited and natural performer and is, of course, the best part of "Dhadak ".
Music remains in the hands of Ajay-Atul and they deliver, however, I can't say the same for the new "Zingaat".
Not like the original but yes an adaptation which is worthy, honest and watchable!!
The climax again is equally heart-breaking and will send you once again in the same zone of shock and silence.....
