Section 375 is a courtroom drama directed by algebra hell. It’s well done and very brave film follows the story of a junior costume designer who’s accused a film director of rape. she goes to the court, and he gets ten years of rigorous imprisonment but he will now go to the higher court with the help of a reputed lawyer played by Akshay Khanna who will now fight it out with the prosecution lawyer played by Richard Chadha. the investigation, the courtroom scenes and the arguments are very gripping you will be at the edge of your seat throughout some scenes make you very uncomfortable like the one in which the rape victim is standing in front of a male medical examiner who’s asking her very uncomfortable questions about how she was raped. Both lawyers are doing a tremendous job of defending their clients, but one lawyer knows that their client is not innocent. But they will use every loophole in the system they’ll do everything possible to defend the client because as Akshay Khanna says we are not in the business of justice we are in the business of law. Law is not justice; it’s just a tool to get there. The scenery in this film is realistic and amazing. This is exactly how courtrooms are in India and not like they used to show it glorified in some movies back in the days Akshay Khanna is phenomenal and so is Richard Chadha she’s a lawyer who’s defending the girl. Akshay Khanna is a lawyer who is defending the accused. She used to be Akshay Khanna junior at a law firm but left the firm because of ideological differences. This film raises important questions are there men and women around us who use the law and the loopholes in the system to accuse someone of a heinous crime the answer is yes there are and this film shows one of those stories. Section 375 may not have an end that you may want as a viewer but it may make you feel uncomfortable but these things are happening all around us, so right, and the director chose one of those stories to make it into a film. It’s an important film that you should just not miss.
