The exceptional story of hockey legend Sandeep Singh is inspiring for everyone and "Soorma" tells it directly from heart, however, in entirety the film has not turned out as promising as it was expected.
The performances are just killer ones. Diljit Dosanjh acts from the heart and is the soul of the movie, Angad Bedi is again brilliant in every scene, Vijay Raaj is smashing, Satish Kaushik is adorable, Tapsee Pannu is electrifying and Kulbhushan Kharbanda is a delight.
This story is about hockey, emotions, love, struggle, and comebacks and is without any drama and masala. It is told in a simple and natural flow and does full justice to the goal.
The first half is gripping and fun, the second half deals partly with the pain, anguish, and frustration of the protagonist and then his recovery and uprise from there.
However, in the latter part, the clutch of the narrative loses grip and the proceedings start looking plain and take the shape of a documentary. The character of Tapsee Pannu and many other elements look cliched which could have been handled better.
The movie could have been much better but the real story on which it is based is just phenomenal and can inspire everyone, so all appreciations for bringing it on screen!!
