Manikarnika

Kangana is magnificent of course!! She has matched ambition with hard work and conviction and has done every justice to the role. In the stunt scenes also she is like no one else.

But I expected a more mature direction, better research and less distortion of history.
The major characters of 1857 revolt like "Tatya Tope", "Nana Saheb" find very little mention. The movie has taken many cinematic liberties and also ends abruptly by showing "Rani Lakshmi Bai" putting herself to flames which is disappointing as everyone knows the historical truth is different.
"Manikarnika" movie starts in a not very effective manner but later takes a good pace and despite the flaws, it has a very gripping narrative and superlative performances.
The stunts, action, combat scenes and Kangana in charge of all of them are like never before.
Jishu Sengupta as Gangadhar Rao is a performance worth watching, he has given a very mature and effective one.
The rest of all the cast which includes Danny, Ankita Lokhande, Zeeshan Ayub, Atul Kulkarni are good too but they have got less scope.
The saga of the greatest warrior of our country "Rani Lakshmi Bai" has always deserved to be presented in such a grand scale and the way the movie is written, it gives a lot of important lessons for the generations, which are still very relevant and will remain relevant too.
So even after some disappointments from the direction, research and too many cinematic liberties I recommend watching it.
It falls short of the expectations, but even then it is a very good movie and definitely worth to be watched!
